Qualifications and Experience

 

  • BEng or B Tech Degree
  • 15 years experience on process projects as Area Manager or Project Manager or Study Manager

 

Skills / Competencies

  • General engineering knowledge
  • Clear understanding of the requirements of The Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge
  • Thorough understanding of Engineering Management Processes Ability to engage in systems design and implementation
  • Ability to establish relevant work practices
  • An understanding of strategic and change management and an ability to translate this understanding into appropriate action
  • Sufficient technical knowledge to understand client requirements
  • Broad-based background in the Mining Industry
  • Ability to see and plan across a broad range of project activities
  • Management, supervisory and coordination skills
  • A high level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to mobilise consent and provide the impetus for optimisation and efficiency within a task specific group
  • Taskforce leadership ability
  • Strong Process or Mechanical background

Key Performance Areas

 

  • Manages on a task specific basis the delivery of best practice systems and processes in designated studies and consulting services, in alignment with the organisational objectives and client requirements
  • Is the prime point of contact for all communications between clients and the organisation relating to designated studies and consulting services
  • Accountable to manage and direct designated Study teams to ensure profitability and reimbursibility
  • Accountable to manage the implementation of designated studies and consulting services with respect to content, presentation, communications, cost control, scheduling, internal review and audit, reporting, maintenance of study records and the overall direction and control of the work.
  • Accountable to contribute to the strategic management of the organisation.
  • Accountable to co-ordinate and provide the appropriate resources to designated task forces so that studies are completed on time, fit for purpose and according to budget and client requirements, and of high quality
  • Accountable to contribute to the establishment, development and continuous improvement of systems and practices to enable studies and consulting services to be delivered more effectively and efficiently
  • Accountable to manage the process of preparation of designated study documents to ensure quality and accuracy of information

HSSE Responsibilities

  • Provide positive and demonstrated leadership on HSSE issues within your area of operation
  • Read, understand and implement the HSSE policies, procedures and Beyond Zero programme
  • Promote an enthusiastic HSSE culture that delivers positive commitment to and engages all employees in continuous improvement in HSSE performance
  • Monitor personnel under your area of control comply with their individual responsibilities to HSSE matters

HR Responsibilities

  • Read, understand and implement HR policies and arrangements as published on the BMS
  • Read, understand and implement the organisation’s HR Strategy, My Future and associated scorecard activities in partnership with the local HR team
  • Promote within your area of operation a culture of people development, achievement, and performance
  • Actively role model and promote the organisation’s values and Code of Business Conduct

Market related depending on qualification and experience.
